Adventure and Nature

The largest archipelago in the world, Indonesia offers visitors an astounding variety of activities on its various islands. Adventure can be found on Bali and Lombok in the thriving coral reefs underwater or in the lush tropical jungles and rice paddies. The long history of Indonesia also inspires visitors to immerse themselves in mind-altering cultural and educational events. But if you're in the most need of rest and healing, you can find lots of quiet places to relax and take advantage of your health and wellbeing at yoga studios and spas that blend in with the natural beauty of the surroundings. On culinary excursions, you may experience the local cuisine at award-winning restaurants, fun cooking workshops, and lively outdoor markets.

Culinary Excursions

If you visit Indonesia, you must try the local cuisine. Now, if you've read any information on the nation, you're probably familiar with the terms "nasi goreng" and "mie goreng." But it's important to push yourself outside your comfort zone. Now, if this is your first time eating street food in Asia, you should definitely take it slowly at first. Soto betawi, martabak, kare ayam, and ikan bakar are a few of my favorite foods. If you are on the cautious side, my advice is to go to the local areas where there are the most locals. Generally speaking, if many residents are returning, then they are not likely to contract food poisoning there.

It truly just depends on what you're looking for as far as enjoyment is concerned. You may certainly go island hopping, engage in outdoor activities, visit waterfalls, and visit beaches, beach clubs, and rooftop bars in destinations like Bali and the nearby islands. If you're visiting destinations like Jakarta and other large cities, your main sources of amusement will be shopping mall visits, street exploration, and even indoor activities like ice skating, go-karting, and jet skiing around Jakarta.

Now, two organizations I'll recommend if you need anything transported here are DHL and the local business known as JNE. Additionally, it is not too expensive to have things transported anywhere in Indonesia for between IDR 50,000 and 100,000. When it comes to online retailers, Tokopedia for electronics and Lazada for everything else will be the two biggest names. I have just needed a dental procedure in the two years that I have lived here—nothing really very significant. I had to get a root canal a few months ago in Bali, and I actually had a really good experience. I don't know how much it would cost in your country given the prices, but I had to pay roughly 5–6 million IDR for a complete root canal procedure. However, overall, the dentist was excellent and had excellent English. Regarding the pharmacies, Guardian is one of the largest pharmacy chains in the nation. So, whether you're looking for anything, including cosmetics or a pharmacy, Guardian will be your best bet.

Considering that you essentially need it for everything from parking to security to tipping, You can now travel with cash in your home currency and use the local currency exchange to convert it to Indonesian rupiah. I have two suggestions for you, use only trusted currency exchanges. Avoid using shady ones. In other words, they are nothing more than a box with tinted glass. Avoid using those since you might be defrauded of your money there. The second piece of advice I can give you is to change money between 12 and 3 o'clock local time. because the currency rate was at its highest then. If you're in Bali and looking to exchange money, I'd suggest BMC and Central Kuta as two trustworthy options.

You may certainly go into any of the malls in Jakarta and exchange your currency there. And there are lots of ATMs scattered across the cities if you're using your debit card. You will, of course, be charged ATM fees and exchange rates. Therefore, I would try my best to avoid using the ATM as often as possible.

In conclusion, Indonesia is a treasure trove of adventure, culture, relaxation, and cuisine. With its diverse offerings, there is something for everyone. Whether you want to explore the underwater wonders of the coral reefs, immerse yourself in the rich history of the country, or simply relax and rejuvenate, Indonesia is the place to be.

When it comes to currency exchange, it is best to use only trusted exchanges and avoid shady ones. The best time to change money is between 12 and 3 o'clock local time. With regards to food, try the local cuisine and push yourself outside your comfort zone. In larger cities like Jakarta, there are plenty of indoor and outdoor activities to keep you entertained. When it comes to transport and shopping, DHL and JNE are reliable options, and Tokopedia and Lazada are the biggest online retailers. Finally, if you need medical or dental care, it is readily available at a reasonable price, with Guardian being the largest pharmacy chain in the country. Indonesia is waiting for you, and I hope this guide has helped you plan an incredible trip.
